Innovation Fund

Each year a portion of the Campus Technology Fund is used to support faculty pilot projects using instructional technology. These funds can be used for hardware or software to develop computer-based teaching and learning resources. The only stipulation is that they be used directly in connection with teaching and student learning. These are one-time grants to encourage innovation and experimentation in instructional technology; the fund is not designed to sustain projects once they have been initiated.

CIT and the ACAT will review each proposal, and funding decisions are made on the basis of these criteria:
- Design: Does the proposal give evidence of thoughtful planning?
- Need: Does it fill a direct need or goal for a course, department, or division?
- Experimentation: Does it employ new techniques or new technologies?
- Innovation: Is this an innovative use of technology?
- Success: Does it include an assessment plan?
- Dissemination: Does it indicate how results will be communicated to faculty?

Schedule
- Deadline for requests to be received by ACAT: February 15.
- Requests will be considered by ACAT at its March monthly meeting.
- Funds will be available by April.
